Preparation of 1M IPTG stock

1. Dissolve 2.83g of IPTG in 10mL of pure water (in a clean, small beaker)
2. Filter sterilize with syringe filter and deposit into clean 50mL conical tube
3. Split into 1mL aliquots and store in -20C freezer

Notes

• When adding to 5mL overnight culture, add 5μL of stock solution for 1mM final concentration.
• When adding IPTG to LB agar plates, a typical concentration is 0.1-0.5mM IPTG.
