What's "Marimo"?

Marimo is a Japanese name of Aegagropila linnaei. It is known as the "Lake Ball" or "Moss Balls" in English.
In Japanese, Marimo literally means "ball of seaweed". Marimo photosynthesize and produce ATP,
so that it plays an important role in ecosystem. It does not only produce ATP, but the structure of it is also very attractive.
Although some Marimo live as filaments attached to rocks, Marimo that lives in Lake Akan, Hokkaido are round
due to the various environmental factors and conditions. It is one of the most characteristic plants in Hokkaido.
We use Marimo gel which imitates Marimo as the key of this project.
