We transformed our plasmids into competent bacteria and plated them. We had 27 plates, 26 were LB ampicillin plates, 1 was non-ampicillin plate. Of the 26 LB ampicillin plates, 24 of them contained our our combinations of wintergreen and RFP genes.  The other 2 LB ampicillin plates each contained controls, 1 had our positive control (competent plasmid), the other had our negative control (just RFP).  The non-ampicillin plate was a non-selective control which is just competent cells.
