Results of bacterial innoculationsOur bacterial innoculations lacked the ampicillin so not only did our bacteria that took up our plasmid grow, but the bacteria without our plasmid grew as well. The bacteria without the plasmids grew faster than the bacteria with our plasmids, therefore the bacteria lacking our plasmids vastly outnumbered those with our plasmids. Therefore, we did not see a red color in our innoculations but our cell colonies on our plates were not red either, so it probably would not have changed our results if we had added ampicillin to our innoculations.
