The Sweet Smell of.....E.coli?

Aaron, Diveena and Surabhi repeated the plasmid extraction, restriction digestion and gel electrophoresis from the 4 over night cultures prepared by Jared on Friday. 2 out of the 4 double digest of our plasmid with EcoR1 and Pst1 showed a band at about 1300bp region, which we were expecting. The UV promoter is about 100bp and the and the Wintergreen odor generator is about 1200bp. We succeeded!!!!! The smelly group has created a new composite biobrick part. After the thanksgiving break we would be working on characterizing the biobrick part and maybe look in sequencing the part.
