This week we extracted DNA according to the protocols listed here: [ http://www.protocol-online.org/cgi-bin/prot/view_cache.cgi?ID=2051]
The amounts listed in the protocol were adjusted down by a factor of 10 in most cases (i.e. 500ml to 50ml of bacterial broth) to accommodate smaller centrifuge tubes to speed up the centrifuge procedures. We successfully precipitated DNA and are preparing to check its by simple gel electrophoresis.
