* Colonies were present on two of the test plates, one with cells that were transformed with pSB1K3+J23100 and one with cells that were transformed with J61002+J23100. The positive control plate, with cells transformed with pSB1A7 grown on ampicillin, showed large colony numbers. The negative control plates showed no growth on antibiotic-containing plates, but extensive growth on plates not containing antibiotics.  Plates that contained cells which were not transformed showed the same results as the negative control plates.  The results from the control plates suggest that the transformation worked, and that the colonies from the test plates could contain the target vectors with the promoter insert.

Transformation Results

  • Colonies were present on two of the test plates, one with cells that were transformed with pSB1K3+J23100 and one with cells that were transformed with J61002+J23100.
