Tuesday 2/3

Josh and Casy

  • Did transformation of cells for both biobrick 2007 snd 2008.
  • Followed protocol for 2008 on both 2007 and 2008 biobricks.
  • Success will be determined on Thursday.

Josh

  • Will be plating cells with plasmids on respective plates and storing them for Thursday.

Derek, Katy, and Oggie

  • Made glycerol stocks of all 8 original bacteria cultures and stored them at -80*C.
  • Isolated DNA from both strains of B. subtilis var. niger and var. globiformous.
  • Will test for workable DNA Thursday by running the isolated DNA on an agarose gel.
  • Made 10uM primer dilutions from stock 100nM primer.
