Our lab studies the genetic and molecular bases for the adaptation of plants to their local environments. We mainly focus on the adaptation to stress (abiotic and biotic) exploring the natural variation present in wild populations.

'''Evolution of ''NB-LRR'' genes in nature, disease resistance and incompatibility '''

We're currently studying the evolution of ''NB-LRR'' immune-receptor genes and other interacting loci that condition defense against evolving pathogens and how this derives in immune-related hybrid incompatibility. We address these questions using molecular biology, population genetics and biochemical approaches and wild ''Arabidopsis'' and pathogen populations. This research is complemented by the study of the modulation of ''NB-LRR'' signaling by temperature under the DISEASENVIRON project.

'''Natural variation of stress-induced metabolites'''
We study the genetic bases for the naturally occurring genetic variation of some stress metabolites involved in resistance traits to abiotic and biotic stresses.
