B-Per and B-Per II are reagents sold by Pierce ([http://www.piercenet.com) for bacterial lysis. It is a gentle reagent that can be used to lyse cells without denaturing proteins. It has been used to lyse E. coli cells to measure the GFP concentration via the Endy lab plate reader.
