Therefore, the student board is pleased to announce the availability of a "new events fund." The purpose of this is to provide funding support for students who would like to organize events for BE. If you are interested in taking advantage of this, please email beboard@mit.edu with your idea.  We'll contact you to plan and discuss the proposed event.  Based on the funds available to us we hope to be able to offer ~$250 per event but we will consider cheaper or more expensive events. Members of the board are happy to offer assistance in any way possible.

We propose, for your consideration, the addition of a "new events  fund" as part of the boards budget.  The idea would be that any event  that is a demonstrably new and worthwhile event for the board could  be supported from this fund and if successful could become a regular  part of the calendar in future years.  Any money remaining in this  fund at the end of the year would return to the department.  Hopefully, set up this way, the fund would be a positive way for the  board to encourage new events and not just an increase in the boards  usual funding.  We would suggest that an amount in the range of $500- $1000 would be appropriate for this fund, amounting to less than 10%  of the boards budget.
As always, if you are interested in helping to organize existing events, or would like ideas to start with, please contact the board and/or come to the monthly meetings.

As ever, the board is extremely grateful for all the active and financial support we receive from the department.  If we can provide  any more information about this proposal or if you would like to  discuss it further, please do not hesitate to contact Diana or I
Thank you and we hope to hear from you soon!

Yours sincerely,

Dear Students,

The BE Student Board is always looking for new ideas for activities (both social and academic in nature) that would benefit the student body and for people to help organize these activities. Based on the responses from the annual survey, we know that many of you have great ideas for events and we would like to see them realized.

As always, if you are interested in helping to organize existing events, or would like ideas to start with, please contact the board and/or come to the monthly meetings.

Thank you and we hope to hear from you soon!
