Summary/Discussion

In the experiment including both humans and rats, two tests compared the results of zero, five, ten and fifteen milligrams of LPS dose for the humans, and zero and ten milligrams of LPS for the rats. Once inflammotin protein levels were measured, the levels were shown to increase in the humans as the dosage increased. The results of two experiments that were performed on humans and rats were analyzed by using mean of the groups in each experiment. The standard deviation was used to perform a t-test in the experiment with rats due to the presence of a total of two groups. A one-way ANOVA test was performed in the experiment with humans due to having more than two groups. The post-hoc test was performed after the ANOVA test in humans to compare the groups with each other (0mg vs 5mg, 5mg vs 10mg…etc.) and find out if there was a significant difference. The t-test p-value was greater than 0.05 in the experiment with rats, therefore the rat study values were not significantly different. In comparison, the post-hoc test concluded that the values in the human study were all significantly different between the groups.
