Data was gathered from both the Spree technology and the Gold Standards for measuring both Heart rate and temperature. The mean values from the Spree technology used to measure heart rate differed by approximately 6 beats per minute from the gold standard pulse ox measurement. The mean values from the Spree technology used to measure body temperature differed by approximately 1 degree Fahrenheit. These values however do not properly represent the accuracy of the Spree device in measuring heart rate and temperature. By analyzing the correlation coefficients and the values obtained from a t-test, heart rate was found to be accurately measured by the Spree technology, while body temperature values were significantly different than the values obtained from the gold standard. This data supports the conclusion that the Spree technology may be used to accurately measure heart rate but not body temperature.
