The design of the Spree has many flaws. First and most obvious is the aesthetic appeal of the band around ones forehead. The spree's value for temperature is very off, because it measures the skin temperature which can be affected by the outside temperature.  The Spree also has many flaws with connection.  Many times throughout the study the spree lost connection with some or all of the readings it was supposed to give. The pulse readings were very erratic. At times the pulse readings jumped from 60b/min to 130b/min in an instant.
 
The bracelet itself is made of light material and fairly thin.  
There are gel inserts underneath the bracelet. Gel Electrophoresis, or currents are sent through the gel inserts in order to adjust the concentration of the gel that is secreted.  
This process monitors the glucose levels.

Analysis

The t-test resulted in a significant difference between the temperature values for the Spree and the Gold standard. This leads to two different conclusions. First, it could mean that the Spree gives very inaccurate values for temperature, and should not be trusted as a reliable value(s). It could also mean that the Spree was accurate in some aspects, but the readings were too general to have any correlation with the Gold standard. The reason the values for the Spree were so general was because only four different temperature readings were given, which were represented by three different colors.

However, the values from the Spree were shown to have significant difference compared to the values for the heat rate for the Gold standard as well. This was unexpected because the values were very close. The values for the Spree did show correlation (referring to the Pearson R value) with the Gold standard. This most likely means that the values for the heart rate from the Spree was consistent, but not accurate enough to show that there was no significant difference.




Summary/Discussion

After referring to the data analysis, it can be concluded that the Spree did not meet the consumers' needs. According to the t-tests, the value was lower than 0.05, which means that there was a statistically significant difference between the temperatures for the Spree and the temperatures for the Gold standard. The Spree claims to measure heart rate and body temperature, but the readings proved to be inaccurate. It could be used for a general idea of these measures, however. The three different color system that correlated with body temperature was a component that was not completely necessary. Although it is very compatible with current smart phone technology, the bluetooth connection of the smart phone to the device was difficult to connect at first and unreliable throughout the testing period. The device required constant movement, otherwise the signal would be lost. From time to time, the app on the smart phone would show that the heart rate had 0 readings despite the user still being in constant movement.

Possible improvements include utilizing a number system to display temperature and heart rate readings instead of a color system. Finding a way that the device recognizes the user is at rest as well as improving the connection of the device to bluetooth would be significant improvements.
