| We have an opening for a Graduate student interested in Bioinformatics/Computational Epigenetics applied to Stem Cell and Cancer Biology. Student will have access to raw genome wide sequencing data on DNA methylation, histone modification and single nucleotide and copy number variation.

| Questions of interest include the following:
| |
| * Identify the epigenomic/network basis of stem cell pluripotency and self renewal (transcriptional networks of pluripotent transcription factors such as Sox2, Nanog, Oct4, Polycomb and Trithorax proteins)
| |
| * Evolutionary analysis of human and mouse epigenomes
| |
| * Identify epigenetically labile and aberrantly methylated genes in cancer
| |
| * Relate epigenetic modification patterns to gene expression (i.e. decipher the "histone code")
| |
| * Identification and function of regulatory long noncoding RNAs in silencing.
| |
|
| |
| I am open to other related projects as well. Most of these projects require good knowledge of or willingness to learn statistics and programing.
