The Centre for Cell Engineering was formed in 1997 as an interdisciplinary centre to investigate and exploit the use of nano- and microstructured surfaces (chemically, topographically, mechanically) in cell biology and tissue engineering. The CCE is strongly linked to the James Watt Nanofabrication Centre.
