Category:Wiki Idea: Difference between revisions

Steve Koch 01:21, 5 December 2007 (CST):I am thinking this category could be useful for marking pages as having an idea for improving the OWW wiki. I am at first using it via the Template:Wiki Idea SJK, and dynamic page listing as shown here: User:Steven_J._Koch/Wiki_Ideas. On my private wiki, we use this with success for assigning and completing tasks, with the categories, Task, Task Pending, and Task Complete. I can show you how to do this if you like. We are also tinkering with using it for equipment (inventory) and other things with lots of similar entries. I have a feeling it may be helped out by the "Doc Types," from the same people who made "Dynamic Page Listing."

Steve Koch 01:24, 5 December 2007 (CST):I think this has the advantage that it is easier to make contributions to the wiki by creating a new page and quickly marking it with a category that allows the page to be listed on various other pages. The learning curve to make entries (adding a custom template for commonly used things) is very low. The learning curve to do the dynamic page listing is much higher, but doesn't need to be done often nor by everyone.
