"finest haploids since 2009"
Department of Plant Biology, UC Davis and HHMI

Welcome to Simon Chan's Lab

With deep regret we inform you that Simon Chan (1974-2012) has passed away on Aug 22nd at an age of 38

Additional information can be found on the BMCDB blog and the Department of Plant Biology website.

We study chromosome inheritance using the small plant Arabidopsis thaliana.

Haploid plants (represented by pink pots) have only one copy of each chromosome, and are very useful in plant breeding. We have produced haploids by manipulating centromeres. Image by Janet Iwasa.
