"finest haploids since 2009"
Department of Plant Biology at UC Davis and HHMI

Welcome to Simon Chan's Lab

We study chromosome inheritance using the small plant Arabidopsis thaliana.

Haploid plants (represented by pink pots) have only one copy of each chromosome, and are very useful in plant breeding. We have produced haploids by manipulating centromeres. Image by Janet Iwasa.

Postdoc positions available 5/23/2011
We are looking for postdocs to work on genome elimination caused by centromere alterations. Please email Simon if you are interested. Include your CV and a brief description of a project you might pursue in our lab.
