This DataONE OpenWetWare site contains informal notes for several research projects funded through DataONE. DataONE is a collaboration among many partner organizations, and is funded by the US National Science Foundation (NSF) under a Cooperative Agreement.

Dryad

Dryad repository: http://www.datadryad.org/

Dryad is a repository designed to capture data at the time of publication. Ingest is coupled with paper submission, and the model for governance and sustainability is based on shared ownership among a consortium of partner journals. It grew out of a desire to establish cyberinfrastructure that would allow for the implementation of a joint mandatory data archiving policy among some of the partner journals and their societies. It is a grass-roots effort that began within the fields of ecology and evolution, but which we would like to extend progressively outward to related 'small science' journals, particularly in applied and basic life sciences.
