Postdoctoral Fellowship in Translation Kinetics
and the Evolution of Codon Usage

The Drummond Lab is seeking outstanding postdoctoral candidates to pursue research on the biophysical basis of natural selection on protein translation and codon usage, starting immediately. Our goal is to develop kinetic models of translation, with the intent of generating testable predictions to motivate in vivo and in vitro experiments — theoretical and computational studies are our initial focus.

Candidates must have completed a PhD in chemistry, physics, quantitative biology or closely related fields, and be available to start work no later than November 2009. Ideal candidates are exceptional theorists who are motivated to test their theories experimentally.
