Research Areas: Engineering at the molecular scale, in particular the design of active nanosystems incorporating biomolecular motors, the study of active self-assembly, and the investigation of protein-resistant polymer coatings.

Obiora Azie

Obiora Azie hails from the Bronx, New York, and is 21 years old. He is a senior in Columbia University and is currently in the process of completing his Biomedical Engineering Degree with a concentration in Cell and Tissue studies. He has no prior experience in independent research, but has taken multiple laboratory classes in the field of biomedical engineering and chemistry, including organic chemistry. In his free time, he is an avid gamer, and enjoys reading books, comics and fanfiction.
David Verdi

David Verdi is originally from Queens, New York and is 18 years old. He is currently a freshman in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University. Prior to coming to Columbia, he was a student at the Bronx High School of Science. His previous research experience includes analyzing failed total knee implants at the Department of Biomechanics at the Hospital for Special Surgery. In whatever little free time he has, David enjoys photography, fencing, urban exploring, studying philosophy, and playing banannagrams.

David Miller lives in Westchester, New York and is currently a junior at Solomon Schechter School of Westchester. Born in Montreal, Canada, David moved to America at a very young age. David aspires to study engineering and applied science in college in an undecided major. In his spare time, David enjoys playing video games, drawing, and writing for his school newspaper.
