Ellis:Open Positions

The Ellis Lab is hiring for the following positions:

• Postdoctoral Researcher - April/May 2010
• 3 year position
• £30,520 - £33,080 per annum

The research project will be responsive to the applicant’s research history and interests but will fall broadly into the research goals of the centre: (i) to build the foundational tools for synthetic biology, and (ii) to derive applications using synthetic biology.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in molecular biology, microbiology or biochemistry. Experience with DNA recombination techniques and the genetic modification of microbes or simple model organisms is desired. Previous research on synthetic biology will be advantageous but is not a requirement; instead the project is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to cross-over into the exciting field of synthetic biology.
