Preparation of 1M IPTG stock
- Dissolve 2.83g of IPTG in 10mL of pure water (in a clean, small beaker)
- Filter sterilize with syringe filter and deposit into clean 50mL conical tube
- Split into 1mL aliquots and store in -20C freezer
Notes
- When adding to 5mL overnight culture, add 5μL of stock solution for 1mM final concentration.
- When adding IPTG to LB agar plates, a typical concentration is 0.1-0.5mM IPTG.
