Undergraduate research opportunities in our lab

I usually have several undergraduate students working with me, and several who work with my graduate students. I am always interested in working with students who are strongly motivated. Previous experience is good -- but I don't expect that many undergraduate students have experience in research. The best recommendation for you is having strong motivation and willingness to work and learn.

Some recent undergraduate students working in my lab have been involved in giving presentations to national scientific conferences, and these projects will lead to published papers in scientific journals. Others -- generally those with less experience -- have acted as field assistants. We can discuss the level at which you can work in the lab, and we can train you to do what is necessary.

If you think you may be interested, or want more information, the best thing to do is to email me. Also, take a look at the links for "current projects" and "recent papers." Our department requires that students registering for credit for undergraduate research have at least a 3.0 GPA. Please be sure that you know what's expected: read the syllabus for undergrad research and the general expectations for everyone working in the lab.
