* DNA extraction using both halves of one planarian (Gt.1) was completed using the QIAGEN DNeasy blood and tissue kit. The kit calls for 20-200 µl of buffer AE. We used 35 µl Buffer AE on the assumption that our final yield of DNA would be low and to produce a higher concentration of DNA in the final sample.
