Researching a New Project

  • Today we decided for certain to abandon the DthoxC planarian gene project and attempt to clone Biobrick parts instead so that we have a chance to learn these new techniques. We spent the day researching parts on the Biobrick registry and assessing how we will go about accomplishing the cloning process.
  • We decided to obtain the banana-scent ATF1 gene and the green fluorescence GFP gene Biobrick parts to combine them so that they will make one long, continuous protein that causes the E.coli bacteria to both turn green and smell like bananas.
