We are using Drosophila tissues, embryos, as well as human cultured cells, a combination of genetics, live imaging and in vitro biochemical assays to investigate how interference with microtubules (and Microtubule associated Proteins) affects spindle assembly and spindle orientation, and ultimately cell proliferation.
