Goals of the BEInG

The BEInG has several goals at MIT for the academic year 2004-2005:

  1. provide a set of resources for students working on theses or class presentations on topics related to biological energy. resources will include:
    • Endnote reference lists for relevant books, research papers and reviews
    • concepts, models, calculations and background information
    • links to other web resources
    • a shared collection of powerpoint slides for use in class presentations and seminars
  2. put together (or assist) a team competing in the MIT 50K competition:
    • H2 from water and sunlight
    • value added products from CO2.
  3. host speakers from on and off campus
  4. pilot project - make a small photobioreactor producing enough hydrogen to supply a fuel cell powering a remote control model car or laptop computer
