<font size=-3>  Q is a reference to the race of omnipotent being in Star Trek: The Next Generation, the character Q.  It is also a reference to one of my favorite characters in Moby Dick, Queequeg.  The ix is an allusion to the word (with the Q) quixotic, meaning foolishly impractical in the pursuit of ideals, e.g. my feelings about science sometimes.  Why didn't I listen to my mother and be a mortgage broker (She never actually told me that) </font>
