'''We prefer if all new users come through the new user signup page'''.  However, if you prefer, you can use the following procedure to add new users yourself.  Please remember that '''user accounts are for individuals only''' and are '''not meant to be shared by a group'''.

Someone (probably you, from IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
requested that we send you a new OpenWetWare login password.
The password for user "Username" is now "password".
You should log in and change your password now.

*Note that when you click "By email" the password which is sent is computer generated and not the password you specify. It is the correct password, though.

'''Remember to make sure each user has a functional email address linked to it.'''

Finally, to get the process started, we recommend putting a one line descriptor of the person that you added on their user page for community purposes.

To ensure the OpenWetWare's account creation process is as uniform as possible, we've disabled account creation by administrators. All new users can request accounts through the new user signup page. Please also see our new username policy and thoughts on attribution.

If you have feedback or thoughts on this decision, please leave a message on the Help talk:Adding new users page or via the feedback form.
