Making Solutions:
Using the Magnetite hydrogel synthesis protocol to make diluted solutions of KNO3, KOH, Hemoglobin, and Cupric Acetate instead of FeSO4.
Cupric Acetate:
Mass (g) Measured: 1.4974
Molecular Weight g/mol: 199.65
Molar Concentration after diluted with 25mL H2O: 0.3 M
KOH:
Mass (g) Measured: 1.5396
Molecular Weight g/mol: 56.11
Molar Concentration after diluted with 25mL H2O: 1.0975 M
KNO3:
Mass (g) Measured: 2.2747
Molecular Weight g/mol: 101.1
Molar Concentration after diluted with 25mL H2O: 0.91315 M

Making Hemoglobin and Stirring Solution with KNO3, KOH, Hemoglobin, and Cupric Acetate
Hemoglobin:
Mass (g) Measured: 0.0250
Molecular Weight g/mol: 64500
Molar Concentration after diluted with 25mL H2O: 1.5x10^-5
Using the Magnetite hydrogel synthesis protocol to make the 20mL solution.
-Heat water bath to 80°C
-Suspend solution in water bath so liquid is fully emerged.
-Mix solution with the IKA Eurostar 20 on 2500rpm for 1.5 hours.
Start time: 10:30am
End time: 12:00pm
Observations:
At 10 min: Solutions started changing from bright blue to dark blue.
At 20 min: Solutions is a very dark blue
At 40 min: Solution is fully black. Particles are starting to form above meniscus line.
AT 70 min: Solution continues to get darker.
-Put in centrifuge at 4000rpm, 3000BK, for 5 minutes
