Entry title

Met with Alex today. Went over different types of incentives that we could give. I suggested compensation for each group member. Alex brought up paper on gift giving & charitable donations, preferred giving incentives before asking participants to do survey in order to induce altruism. I disagreed, said we did not need to induce altruism for survey purposes.

Also suggested group incentives - payout for whole group if they all participate in survey.

Recounted discussion with Prof. Hafalir

Mentioned paper about group incentives and interdependence -> task interdependence makes group incentives more effective than individual incentives. Also suggested task interdependency to boost group incentives.

Look for more papers & information on social pressuring (possibly from social networks), soliciting, peer incentives
