The plasmid pET-sigmaAntA, which expresses the His-tagged version of the AntA sigma factor, was transformed into both standard E.coli cells and E.coli used for protein (Rosetta BL21). Two plates containing the antibiotic Kanamycin and LB agar were spread with the sample containing standard E.coli cells. A further two plates containing antibiotics kanamycin and Chlorophenical and LB agar were spread with the BL21 E.coli sample. The four plates were left to incubate at room temperature for a couple of days.

Outreach

Soil tokens were ordered in business card. They were to be given to anyone donating a soil sample so they could track its progress and view the results of the screening.
