Today was the first day of Lab work taking place on floor two. We were able to test the efficiency of our competent cells using a kit supplied
by iGEM. We performed transformations into our α-Select competent cells using the part BBa_J04450 DNA in pSB1C3 plasmids of three concentrations: 0.5,10 and 50pg/μL. We then plated the samples onto Agar plates containing Chloramphenicol and incubated overnight.
