DIY Gel Electrophoresis, Doing Science With Household Materials

  • Waterloo iGEM 2012
  • Adapted from protocol developed by sciencebuddies.org
  • Suitable for: high school students

Purpose

To show how science can be done anywhere and allow students to recognize that their own household materials can be used to do simple lab experiments.

After creating the gel electrophoresis there is a formal presentation slideshow that allows connection from the practical aspect to the theory aspect.
