Ariel Hecht created a correlation plot. The data from Firnberg et al. (Fitness scores for the 43 codons + AUG, from Supplementary Data Table S1) is on the x-axis, and the data from Hecht et al. for those same 44 codons (GFP expression data from Figure 2, normalized so AUG = 1) is on the y-axis. The Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient between all 44 codons in the two data sets is 0.59, and for the top 11 codons in your data set (Fitness > 0.05), it is 0.87.
