We use Qiagen columns and regenerate them using the HCl method as published (http://www.hiv-vkrc.org/regenration.php) with the exception that we incubate in 1 N HCl for no longer than 12 hr. Longer incubations in even dilute acid tend to degrade the column material, contrary to the authors' claims.

When you run out of Qiagen buffers, you can make those from scratch as described by the same group, and according to the recipes here:

We have also used MaxxBond to regenerate the columns, which seems to work fine.

We've had good luck with this kit lately for minipreps:
