So there was a lot of drunken talk about establishing a '''end-of-the-week Friday beer session''' to reward everyone for the achievements of the previous 7 days. It was thought that it should involve the ''SAF 6th floor'' and the ''[[Crisanti|Crisanti lab]]'' for starters, would be open to other labs if they want to, and could at some point involve the whole building (think BIG)!<br>

Our lab would organize the fabulous start which would go down on ''Friday July 28th''. From then on we would rotate between the labs to distribute the burden of organization every week. The idea was to collect a small amount from everybody in the lab to kick it off (how does 7 pounds sound?) and have some beer, drinks and food delivered (for lack of means of transportation). We would probably charge something for the beer/wine, the rest would be free. If you have ideas, want to design a poster to put up beforehand, know a good internet grocery delivery website, would like to donate copious amounts of money or would simply like to help out - you are very welcome!<br>

Friday beer session

1st - 5th of August

It’s the Great British Beer Festival at the Earls Court exhibition centre from 1st-5th August and wondered if anyone fancied coming along on Tuesday 1st? Its open that day from 17:00 until 22:30 and costs £7. They apparently have 450 real ales and lots of beers, etc. from round the world (for those of you who aren’t real ale fans!) Let me know what you think and if anyone fancies coming along I’ll work out a time/place for people to meet…
