I obtained my PhD in Molecular Biology from Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia, where I investigated downstream target genes of the T-ALL associated oncoprotein, HOX11. The focus of my research in Dr Licht's laboratory is to identify specific target genes directly regulated by PLZF and the t(11;17) APL associated oncogenic fusion, PLZF-RARa, and thereby unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying the role of these proteins in normal hematopoiesis and in leukemogenesis.
