Building Living Machines From Biobricks - The Promise of Synthetic Biology

Welcome to our exhibit presented at the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition 2007

DNA is the code that instructs cells how to behave.

Biological engineers are now re-programming cells by rewriting their DNA with a library of standardized DNA parts (called BioBricks) in order to produce new drugs, sources of bio-energy, bio-materials, bio-sensors etc...

Come and browse the catalogue of BioBricks, and learn how to combine them to build the next generation of bio-systems that will change our daily life.
