Koop lab

The Koop lab studies molecular evolution, genetic variation, the immune system, genetic hotspots; and the impact of these on disease, cancer, immunity, and natural selection.
Current projects include:
1) Human and mouse genes of the immune system
2) Molecular evolution using multi–gene families
3. Salmon genome project (genome duplication, gene ID & expression and arrays).
These studies address broad evolutionary problems using a highly multidisciplinary approach.
