Experiment

Objective Inject on the brainstem to see if I can find double labelled cells on the trigeminal ganglia. The question is whether individual ganglion cells project up the ascending and descending paths or whether they do not bifurcate (or some indication of proportions of each)

Procedure

Inject dyes on the alar plate either rostral or caudal to the trigeminal ganglion

  • DiI in MetOH: Rostral (left and right)
  • DiO crystal: Caudal (left and right)

Results

Got good labelling of the ganglia with DiO. With DiI I got lot less labellling. Could not tell what was double labelled or not. Otherwise crap.
