Plant-Environment Interactions
Challenges and Consequences of Climate Change (C4)

  • Our lab is committed to finding solutions for future Challenges and Consequences of Climate Change: the four C's.

  • We approach this by studying plant tolerance and resistance in diverse environments.

  • Why in plants? Because plants are primary sources of food and their adaptation to new environments is a prerequisite for the establishment of life as we know on earth.

Current activities

Advance in Knowledge. We're interested in genetics of natural variation, population genetics and molecular biology. We're currently studying immune-receptor gene variation and the effect of temperature on modulation of defense in frame of the project DISEASENVIRON (Career Integration Grant, Marie-Curie Actions, EU).

Applied research. Our lab collaborates with the group of Prof. A.F. Tiburcio to study polyamine homeostasis in plants and its practical applications for inducing stress tolerance against abiotic stresses.

Dissemination of Knowledge. For a more detailed view of our research, have a look at our Research Projects and Scientific Publications sections. For general public information have a look at +info.

Transferring knowledge to future generations. Follow our University lectures and lab practices in Teaching activities.
