Post-doctoral position in Cell and Developmental biology

A post-doctoral position is available in my laboratory for a period of 2-3 years. Our research focuses on the regulation of the spatio-temporal activation of Notch signaling and cell polarity following asymmetric cell division in Drosophila (http://openwetware.org/wiki/LeBorgne). The post-doctoral project is the follow up of our recent publication (Founounou et al, (2013) Developmental Cell 24(3); 242-55) and aims at studying cytokinesis of polarized epithelial cells that divide symmetrically versus asymmetrically in vivo. The team is part of Institute of Genetics and Development of Rennes (http://igdr.univ-rennes1.fr/) (France). Rennes is the capital of Brittany, in northwestern France, with easy and direct access to Paris, Charles de Gaulle Airport (around 2 hours by train) and Dinard Airport (45 min by car, flight to Stansted Airport, UK). The Institute of Genetics and Development of Rennes is dynamic and expanding, with 20 teams representing 200 international researchers and staff, including several recently established young groups. Research at the IGDR covers a wide range of subjects in cell biology, taking advantage of most classical model systems while strongly promoting interdisciplinary approaches. The Institute benefits from state of the art core facilities including advanced light and electron microscopy services. I am looking for a motivated candidate with a PhD and validated experience in genetics, time-lapse imaging and quantitative image analysis. Current position has no nationality restrictions. IGDR is an equal opportunity employer. Complete CV and contact information for two referees should be sent to Dr Roland Le Borgne (roland.leborgne@univ-rennes1.fr)
