Research Interest: I am interested in the population genetics of plants asI am interested in the population genetics of plants as it relates to anthropogenic effects on biodiversity and ecosystems. Population genetics can be used to understand the history of an invasive species in terms of introductions, dispersal, and hybridization. In the study of what causes a species to become invasive, I hope to aid in prediction of which introduced species may become invasive in the future. Potentially, these species could be monitored and controlled before they cause significant ecological and economic damage.
