A functioning set of Locks and Keys and efficient cellular conjugation could lead to construction of basic [logic gates] in cells, which may be strung together to perform complex computation. We are desiging AND gates, and NAND gates. For a typical explanation of these gates, read up some wikipedia: AND gate and [NAND gate].

Design Phase 1: basic parts without conjugation or locks and keys(J23039, J23040, T9002, I13601). Design Phase 2: parts transferred via conjugation (when succesful, the first instance of actual gate activity) Design Phase 3: parts under lock and key (when succesful, the first chance of stringing together gates)
