Loading Buffer with GelRed for Electrophoresis

To do this buffer you can use either Bromophenol blue or Xylene Cyanol buffer. This protocol will make 5ml of 6x solution. Adjust to your needs if necessary.

  1. 5 ml Loading Buffer (Xylene-cyanol or Bromophenol Blue)
  2. 15 ul of GelRed (10000x in water, cat.41003 Biotium)

1 Kb Ladder with GelRed for Electrophoresis

Use the Fermentas GeneRuler 1kb ladder from the stock. Mix:

  1. 100µl (1 tube) DNA Ladder
  2. 100µl 6X Loading Dye Solution with GelRed
  3. 400µl Deionized water

Good to go. I typically load 3µl.
