Prof. Masters will be the Director of the Women in Science and Engineering Residential Program (WISE) for 2011-2012 and is very excited to continue working with young female scientists and engineers!

Prof. Masters will be giving a presentation on how to write a broader impacts plan for NSF proposals. This workshop is organized by the <a href="http://www.delta.wisc.edu/" target="_blank" title="delta">Delta</a> program, and is geared toward graduate students and post-docs. The Masters lab’s work on aneurysm occlusion devices was featured in this semester’s <a href="http://www.engr.wisc.edu/bme/newsletter/article05_balloon_effect.html" target="_blank" title="newsletter">BME newsletter</a>. The investigators on this W.H. Coulter-funded work are Prof. Masters, Prof. Wendy Crone (Engineering Physics), and Dr. Roham Moftakhar (Neurosurgery), and all of the hard lab work is done by Fangmin Xu (Masters lab), Claire Flanagan (Masters lab), and Kevin Hart (Crone lab).
