Liquid BG-11 media

  • Obtain 50x BG-11 media from Sigma-Aldrich (catalog # C3061-500ML).
  • Mix 20 mL 50x BG-11 media and 980 mL Millipore water.
  • Autoclave in 500 mL bottles to sterilize.

Solid BG-11 media

  • Mix:
    • 40 mL 50x BG-11 media
    • 960 mL Millipore water
    • 3.0 g sodium thiosulfate (Na2S2O8)
    • 15 g Bacto-agar
